Convert PPTX to AZW3
Updated Jul 2026
PPTX is the slide-deck format built for presenting on a screen, with exact positioning, animations, and speaker notes. AZW3 is Kindle's ebook format, built for reflowable reading on an e-ink screen. Converting turns your slides into linear reading pages. Doing it on your own computer keeps the deck off someone else's server the whole time.

Convert PPTX to AZW3 on your own computer. Nothing uploads.
How to convert PPTX to AZW3
- Open Morphjet and drag in the PPTX file, or a whole folder of decks.
- Choose AZW3 as the output format.
- Convert. The AZW3 file is written next to your original, and nothing leaves your machine.
PPTX vs AZW3: what actually changes
| PPTX | AZW3 | |
|---|---|---|
| File size | Often large, especially with images and embedded fonts | Smaller, mostly just text and resized images |
| Layout | Fixed, slide by slide, exact positioning | Reflowable, text and images flow to fit the screen |
| Animations and transitions | Supported | Not supported, dropped on conversion |
| Speaker notes | Supported | Not carried over |
| Compatibility | Needs presentation software or a compatible viewer | Reads natively on Kindle devices and apps |
| Editability | Fully editable slides | Read-only ebook, not meant for editing |
When to convert, and when not to
Convert PPTX to AZW3 when you want to read a slide deck's content, like a course, report, or training material, as a book on a Kindle instead of on a laptop or projector.
Keep the PPTX if you need to present it, edit it, or keep its exact layout, animations, and speaker notes, since none of that survives the move to AZW3's reflowable pages.
Why not just use an online converter?
Slide decks often carry internal notes, client names, or unfinished work you'd rather not hand to a stranger's server. Uploading a PPTX to an online converter means a copy sits on someone else's machine, even briefly. Converting on your own computer keeps the deck, and everything in it, right where it started.
Questions
Will my slides look the same in AZW3?
No. AZW3 reflows content into pages of text, so the exact slide positioning, animations, and transitions don't carry over. The text and images are kept, but rearranged into a linear reading order.
Do speaker notes make it into the AZW3 file?
No. Speaker notes are tied to the slide format and aren't part of the reflowable text a Kindle displays, so only the visible slide content converts.
Can I edit the AZW3 file afterward?
Not really. AZW3 is meant for reading on a Kindle, not editing. If you need to change the content, go back to the original PPTX and convert again.
Can I convert PPTX to AZW3 without uploading it anywhere?
Yes. Morphjet converts the file locally, so the presentation never leaves your computer. You can do it with wifi off.
Morphjet converts PPTX, AZW3, and 1,800+ other formats, all on your machine. Launching this July.
