Convert PPTX to PNG

Updated Jul 2026

Short answer

PPTX is a PowerPoint presentation made up of editable slides, and PNG is a single flat image. To convert PPTX to PNG, each slide is rendered out as its own image file. Doing this on your own computer means the presentation, and whatever is on those slides, never has to be uploaded anywhere.

How to convert PPTX to PNG

  1. Open Morphjet and drag in the PPTX file, or a whole folder of presentations at once.
  2. Choose PNG as the output format. Each slide in the presentation becomes its own PNG.
  3. Convert. The images are written to your folder in order, and nothing leaves your machine.

When to convert, and when not to

Convert PPTX to PNG when you need to drop a slide into a document, a webpage, or a chat message as a plain image, or when you want to pull a logo, chart, or screenshot off a slide without anyone being able to edit it.

Keep the PPTX if you or anyone else still needs to edit the text, reorder slides, or reuse the layout, since a PNG is just a flat picture and none of that comes back.

Why not just use an online converter?

Slide decks often carry things you would not want a stranger's server to see: unreleased numbers, client names, internal roadmaps. An online converter has to receive the whole file to turn it into images. Converting on your own computer keeps the deck, and everything on it, on your machine the entire time.

Questions

Does converting PPTX to PNG lose quality?

The slides themselves aren't recompressed the way a photo is, but PNG is a fixed image, so it's rendered at one resolution. Export at a high resolution and it will look sharp; text and shapes just can't be edited or resized without softening afterward.

Do I get one PNG or one per slide?

One PNG per slide. A ten-slide presentation becomes ten image files, usually numbered in order, so you can pick out the one you need.

Will the PNGs keep speaker notes or animations?

No. A PNG is a single flat image of how the slide looks, so notes, animations, and transitions don't carry over. Only what's visible on the slide itself is captured.

Can I convert a PPTX to PNG without uploading it anywhere?

Yes. A desktop app like Morphjet renders the slides to PNG on your own computer, so the file never has to travel over the internet.

Can I get a transparent PNG from a slide?

If the slide element itself has no background, such as a logo placed on a blank slide, the exported PNG can keep that transparency. A slide with a solid background will export with that background baked in.
