Convert TXT to PPTX
Updated Jul 2026
TXT is a plain text file with no slides or layout at all. To convert TXT to PPTX, a converter reads the text and builds a basic slide deck, usually splitting it into slides at blank lines. Morphjet does this on your own computer, so the file never has to be uploaded to become a presentation.

How to convert TXT to PPTX
- Open Morphjet and drag in the TXT file, or a whole folder of them, that you want turned into a presentation.
- Choose PPTX as the output format.
- Convert. Morphjet splits the text into slides and writes the PPTX file next to your original, without an internet connection.
TXT vs PPTX: what actually changes
| TXT | PPTX | |
|---|---|---|
| File size | Tiny, just characters and line breaks | Much larger, since PPTX packages fonts, layout, and slide data |
| Structure | None, just lines of text top to bottom | Organized into individual slides you can step through one at a time |
| Formatting | None, no fonts, colors, or layout | Has a slide layout, though it looks plain until you add design |
| Compatibility | Opens in any text editor on any device | Needs a presentation program that can open slide decks |
| Editability | Trivial to edit as plain text | Editable as slides, but where one slide ends and the next begins is a guess that may need fixing |
When to convert, and when not to
Convert TXT to PPTX when you have notes, a script, or an outline sitting in plain text and want a starting slide deck to present or share, instead of retyping it into a presentation program from scratch.
Keep the plain text file if all you need is to read, search, or edit the words, since a text editor handles that faster than opening a presentation program ever will.
Why not just use an online converter?
TXT files often hold rough drafts, meeting notes, or scripts you haven't cleaned up yet. Sending that raw text to an online converter means a stranger's server holds a copy of it, even briefly, before it comes back as a presentation. Converting on your own computer keeps that text, and whatever it says, entirely on your machine.
Questions
Will converting TXT to PPTX lose any information?
No words are lost, but there was no formatting to lose in the first place. Morphjet has to invent slide breaks and a basic layout, since a TXT file has no concept of slides, fonts, or design.
How does the converter decide where one slide ends and the next begins?
Usually by splitting the text at blank lines or paragraph breaks. If your TXT file is one long block, it helps to add a blank line between sections before converting so the slides come out a sensible size.
Will the PPTX file open in other presentation software, not just one specific program?
Yes. PPTX is a widely supported format that most presentation software can open, though you'll likely want to adjust fonts and layout once it's imported.
Can I convert TXT to PPTX without uploading the file anywhere?
Yes. Morphjet converts it directly on your computer, so the notes and the presentation they become never travel over the internet.
Morphjet converts TXT, PPTX, and 1,800+ other formats, all on your machine. Launching this July.
